Brutalist approved Axminster

Inspired by the Barbican - London’s iconic Brutalist complex featuring a mix of cultural venues and residential spaces - we present our latest Axminster offering in a stunning stipple effect barber pole yarn.

Axminster carpets, known for their intricate designs and durability, were often used in interiors of Brutalist architecture. Although the style was typically renowned for its emphasis on raw concrete and minimalist aesthetics, Axminster provided a contrasting element of luxury and pattern, particularly in public and high-traffic areas. The Barbican was purpose built as a cultural complex featuring theatres, cinemas, art galleries, and concert halls, alongside residential apartments in 1982 and is still utilised as such thanks to its great design by architects Chamberlin, Powell and Bon.

Join us in celebrating this iconic space as we delve into its interior architecture and the amazing accompanying interior design from recent years.

Commonly used in both residential and commercial applications Axminster, due to its high-quality craftsmanship, benefits projects where both aesthetics and longevity are paramount.

Our Barbican luxury Axminster is produced in 100% British wool with a woven construction of 7*10*8. You can choose any of the 60 colours on offer pictured below.
