Jacaranda in Australia
We are pleased to announce that Wautier has been appointed Australasian distributor and partner for the renowned Jacaranda carpets & rugs.
We believe that wool makes great carpets. Sheep grow new fleeces every year so wool is natural, renewable and biodegradable too. Wool is soft and warm but hard-wearing and naturally fire retardant. Wool fibres are naturally coated in lanolin providing stain resistance. For those that love shine, we hand-weave with the botanic fibre TENCEL™, winner of the “European Award for the Environment”.
That is why we are so pleased to announce that Wautier has been appointed Australasian distributor and partner for the renowned Jacaranda Carpets. Jacaranda craft beautiful handmade floor coverings, deeply rooted in quality, ethics, and environmental responsibility—with a genuine love for natural, tactile textures.
ETHOS + PROCESS
Founded on appreciation for hand-woven quality, most of their carpets pass through at least 64 hands, spanning approximately 208 hours over 31 days—from dyeing, weaving, and finishing to quality control. They exclusively use natural, bio-based fibres—such as undyed wool, botanic TENCEL™, and real silk—for their sustainability, hand-feel, and aesthetic appeal. They are also committed to ethical production, working with GoodWeave to ensure the absence of child labour and fair treatment in their weaving facilities.
COLLECTIONS + MADE TO MEASURE
Their offerings include a refined Classic Collection of elegantly simple designs—timeless and highly customisable in composition, shape, and size, suitable for a range of interiors. Materials may include wool, TENCEL™, or silk, matching your chosen palette or sample—crafted with meticulous skill and GoodWeave certification.
Beyond that, they present a variety of hand-woven textures, each with distinct materials and finishes: for instance, Agra, Almora, Arani, Babri, Kheri, Seoni, and more, spanning TENCEL™, wool, or blends, in styles from bouclé to velvet or flat-weave. Their New Ranges—like enhanced Kashmir, Willingdon with new earthy tones —offer luxurious textures and upgraded palettes.
SUSTAINABILITY + HISTORY
Founded in London and operating from a showroom in Chelsea Harbour since 2010, Jacaranda also maintains a bespoke workshop and distribution hub in Desborough, Northamptonshire. They expanded with a European warehouse following Brexit for improved service. In 2022, they committed to the UN Race to Zero, pledging to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and reach net zero by 2040.
