VAN BESOUW
Established in the Netherlands in 1839, Van Besouw represents nearly two centuries of dedication to craftsmanship and innovation. Renowned for its meticulous approach, Van Besouw develops carpets “with the utmost care”—from fiber and yarn through backing and pile—employing advanced production techniques to achieve both aesthetic refinement and outstanding durability.
Their collections leverage quality natural materials—like Egyptian cotton, Australian Merino wool, goat hair—and in some cases sustainable synthetics such as Econyl nylon—each chosen for its luxurious feel and performance. A landmark innovation came in the 1960s when Van Besouw, in collaboration with industrial designer Benno Premsela, introduced the iconic loop pile cotton carpet (3801)—a knitted structure that revolutionised the market and remains a benchmark today. They continue to lead through diverse collections—knit, woven, tufted—each defined by thoughtful detailing and a signature “writing effect” in texture and pattern.
The Van Besouw 2620 is a striking carpet with a subtle stripe structure. The two colours in the carpet have been chosen in balance, which creates a refined and inviting result. The thickness of the carpet makes it very suitable as a custom rug.

JABO
While younger—founded in 1953—Jabo Carpets quickly became legendary for inventing broadloom sisal carpets by weaving sisal, hemp, and coconut fibres—sparking a design revolution. Still rooted in nature, Jabo emphasises the use of sustainable fibres such as sisal, seagrass, wool, and responsibly sourced blends. Their production embraces traditional weaving and modern tufting methods, chosen deliberately to bring desired textures and aesthetic outcomes to life.
The brand champions authenticity, offering a repertoire of “1001 designs” that celebrate Dutch design, craftsmanship, and customisation. Whether it’s a minimal 100% wool carpet like the tightly woven Jabo 1428, or the plush loop texture of Jabo 1623, these products balance natural elegance with enduring performance—perfectly suited to both residential and high-traffic commercial environments.
The flat woven carpet 2434 is a combination of 90% PP and 10% wool. An attractive rug with a natural look and a distinctive diamond structure. Because of its specifications it is suitable for both residential and project use (see specifications). From a technical point of view, the fire classification on this product is very unique, which also makes this carpet suitable for use in, for example, hotels.
