Recreated antique floorboards with way finding overlays at Paleis Het Loo
PALACE CASE STUDY:
We love to witness the power of print, when it really earns it’s seat at the table - like this case study of the Paleis Het Loo, former home to the Dutch Royal family.
Pictured above is the delicate art of recreating the antique flooring by Spacial design firm Kossmanndejong. The teamphotographed and developed an “invisible” runner that is almost indistinguishable from the original floors of the palace.
Sander Van Der Bosch photographed (below) the original floors capturing every wood grain and carpet detail perfectly replicating what lay beneath with printed carpet. This maintained the rooms’ immersive qualities and enabling the public to walk on what looked like the original antique carpets and floors while not disturbing the actual floors beneath.
