For the multi-million-dollar refurbishment of The Sebel Melbourne Flinders Lane, Wautier Carpets worked closely with Penny del Castillo of Studio del Castillo and Dezign to develop a coordinated suite of bespoke Ikon Print carpets and rugs. Our in-house design team collaborated through an iterative design process to create custom lounge rugs and three broadloom designs, installed throughout the hotel’s 60 suites, foyer, corridors and communal spaces. Printed onto durable commercial nylon substrates, Ikon Print provided the freedom to develop distinctive pattern and colour across multiple applications while delivering the performance required for a busy boutique hotel — creating a cohesive flooring story throughout the renewed property.

Precision dye injection carpet involves a process where dye is directly injected onto the carpet fibres to create intricate patterns and vibrant colours. This method and the nylon fibres utilised ensure durability and stain resistance enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.
