Lalor House

For the heritage restoration and contemporary extension of Lalor House in Richmond by March Studio, Wautier Carpets supplied bespoke Ikon Print stair runners and rugs, designed by our Melbourne partner Steve Clayton of ArtOz, a textile designer celebrating 50 years in flooring design. The custom designs create a considered dialogue between the ornate 1888 Victorian residence and its contemporary additions. Often overlooked for luxury residential projects, Ikon offers exceptional scope for bespoke colour and intricate pattern alongside impressive performance. Returning to photograph the project two years after installation, we were struck by how pristine the runners and rugs remained — a compelling testament to Ikon Print’s durability, even across hardworking areas such as stairs.

Precision dye injection carpet involves a process where dye is directly injected onto the carpet fibres to create intricate patterns and vibrant colours. This method and the nylon fibres utilised ensure durability and stain resistance enhancing both aesthetics and functionality. The opportunity for precision and customisation makes it ideal for detailed designs and logos, often used in commercial and hospitality settings.

There are a variety of machines we utilise to create your designs from a super fast resolution 26dpi machine, to a more detailed 76 and 100dpi HD quality. Anything you can dream, we can do.
